Interesting insights have been shared by Benevity in their Executive CSR Report. The survey of 300 senior leaders in the US and 200 senior leaders in the UK was completed in 2024. The findings demonstrate the value that responsible, ethical initiatives have on driving value for business.

Budgets are on the rise

  1. Nearly 1/3 of leaders are allocating more than 10% of corporate budget to CSR
  2. 76% of leaders expect an increase in their organisation’s CSR activities in the next 12 months
  3. Despite anti-ESG sentiment, leaders have not changed course &continue to invest.

CSR helps business goals

  1.  43% of leaders say CSR initiatives deliver a direct business ROI
  2. CSR investment drives employee preference, customer preference, talent attraction & direct businessROI
  3. “Interest among our employees” is the top driver for businesses investing in CSR initiatives

Measurement of CSR initiatives remains a challenge

  1. Initiatives can have a low perceived value making it hard for leaders to push forward with initiatives
  2. 62% of impact leaders are increasing investment in measurement & reporting
  3. 58% of companies have transparent metrics and reporting to ensure accountability
